The Refined Pinot Noir Variety
The Pinot Noir Alto Adige DOC from Adler Winery is crafted from a grape variety with noble origins. Originally from the prestigious Burgundy region in France, this variety was introduced to South Tyrol over a century ago. Today, the warm, sun-drenched hillsides around Campodazzo in the lower Valle Isarco offer the ideal conditions for growing this exceptional grape. The unique terroir brings out the expressivity and distinctive character that make Pinot Noir one of the most refined and sought-after red wines.
A Terroir that Enhances Elegance
Grown at altitudes ranging from 420 to 750 meters, the Pinot Noir vines benefit from the perfect combination of climate and soil in the lower Valle Isarco. The alluvial soils, enriched with porphyritic sediment and limestone deposits from dolomite rock, provide the vines with the minerals needed to develop complexity and depth. This terroir contributes to the wine’s structure, elegance, and refined character.
Vinification with Tradition and Care
The winemaking process at Adler Winery respects the traditional methods essential to bring out the best in Pinot Noir. After a classic maceration on the skins under controlled temperature in stainless steel vats, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation, lending it a rounded texture. Finally, the wine is aged on fine lees in large wooden barrels, allowing it to mature gracefully and develop a harmonious balance of flavors and aromas.
